Scandinavia A La Carte is for our clients that want to travel independently but take advantage of our expertise, following the most popular routes and sights. This way you can now select your own Scandinavian itinerary while using our discounted hotel rates combined with select scheduled city tours and travel by train from city to city, on one of the most modern, comfortable and reliable train systems in Europe. You can either take the entire tour as outlined or portions as listed below. We can also assist you with following add-ons to below tour(s); transatlantic airfare on SAS with an option to fly between the capitals and save, and/or start/end your itinerary with a 6 to 12 day cruise on the famous Hurtigruten Coastal Voyage from/to Bergen or Kirkenes. Extra nights can be added as needed. Please e-mail/call for a quote.
The tours can also be done in reverse.
Day 01: ARRIVE COPENHAGEN
Transfer upon arrival to your hotel on own. Copenhagen airport is only a short train ride from the Central Station (10 min./$6 p.p.) or take a taxi directly to your hotel (15 min./ $40) Remainder of the day is free to rest and get to know one of the worlds oldest and most spectacular Kingdoms.

Day 02: COPENHAGEN
After a good Scandinavian buffet breakfast, a full day in Copenhagen including a 2.5 hour Grand Tour of Copenhagen. You will see the Royal Amalienborg Palace, Christiansborg Castle, The Little Mermaid and much more. The afternoon is free to explore on your own.
This evening we recommend a visit to the famous Tivoli Garden, open May 01-September 16, 2007. Dates subject to change.

Day 03: COPENHAGEN
Buffet breakfast at your hotel. Enjoy another day in Copenhagen in the shopping areas including the mile long pedestrian street Stroget lined with shops and department stores. If you prefer to see parts of the scenic countryside you can take an optional Castle Tour of North Sealand or take a train to one of the nearby sights.
Overnight at 3* HOTEL 27 or 4* FIRST VESTERBRO, or similar.

Day 04: COPENHAGEN to STOCKHOLM
After breakfast at your hotel transfer on own to the central station for a 5 hour X2000 high speed train ride to Stockholm. As you train through the beautiful Swedish countryside you will see small cozy villages, forests and sparkling lakes. Arrival in the Swedish capital in the late afternoon. Transfer on own to your hotel located close to the Central Station.
Rest of day free.

Day 05: STOCKHOLM
After a good Scandinavian buffet breakfast, start on a 2.5 hour combined coach and boat tour of Stockholm. Famous sights on the tour include the Royal Palace, the Parliament Buildings, the City Hall and the Old Town followed by a 1 hour sailing around the royal park of Djurgården. We can also recommend optional visits to the impressive Drottningholm Palace or the famous Wasa Ship Museum, in the afternoon.

Day 06: STOCKHOLM
Buffet breakfast at hotel. A full day to explore Stockholm and its many sights or take an optional tour. The Stockholm archipelago is spectacular and you can take one of several boat tours available from the downtown harbor.

Day 07: STOCKHOLM to OSLO
For guests terminating in Stockholm, this tour ends after breakfast.
After breakfast transfer on own to the Central Station for a 5 hour train ride to Oslo. (Note! Some departures will take longer due to connecting train service required.) You will arrive in the Norwegian Viking capital in the afternoon or evening. Transfer on own to your hotel located close to the Central Station.
Remainder of day free.

Day 08: OSLO
After a good Scandinavian buffet breakfast, start on a 3 hour Oslo city sightseeing tour, visiting landmarks and attractions such as the City Hall, the Viking Ship Museum, the Vigeland Sculpture Park and more. In the afternoon, a visit to the medieval Akershus castle and the World War II Resistance museum on your own, is highly recommended.
Evening at leisure.

Day 09: OSLO to FLÅM
For guests terminating in Oslo, this tour ends after breakfast.
After an early breakfast, transfer on your own to the Central Station. You are now embarking on an expanded version of the famous Norway in a Nutshell tour starting with an 8am or 10.30am 5 hour train ride towards Bergen, via the beautiful Hallingdal Valley to Myrdal. In Myrdal you will change train to the spectacular Flåm Mountain Railroad, descending for 13 miles via 20 tunnels before reaching Flåm Village in about one hour.
You will spend the night at charming Fretheim Hotel located next to the rail station. Evening at leisure.

Day 10: FLÅM to BERGEN
Enjoy your buffet breakfast as you look out over the scenic Aurlandsfjord. Flaam is a small fjord village but offers many options for activities including hiking and kayaking. You can either depart in the morning or mid-afternoon, on a 2 hour fjord cruise along the Aurlands and Naeroeyfjords to Gudvangen. In Gudvangen you will connect to the scheduled bus to Voss. Upon arrival in Voss you will connect to the Bergen train for a one hour ride to Bergen Station. In Bergen transfer on your own to your hotel next to the harbor.

Day 11: BERGEN
Scandinavian buffet breakfast at hotel. The rest of the day is free to explore Bergen city and harbor plus a 3 hour city sightseeing tour (May 01-September 30 only) that includes a visit to Troldhaugen, the home of famous Norwegian composer Edward Grieg and Old Bergen Museum or Fantoft Stave church.
Evening at leisure.

Day 12: BERGEN END.
After your final Scandinavian buffet breakfast, check out and transfer on own to Bergen Airport. Transfer options are Airport bus (30 min./$15) or a taxi. (20 min./$40)
