Tour Itinerary:
Day 01 Tuesday USA-ICELAND
Board your modern jetliner for overnight flight to Keflavik Airport
in Iceland Meals:In flight
Day 02 Wednesday REYKJAVIK
Upon arrival scheduled coach transfer included to Reykjavik City.
Check in at your hotel and you have time for an optional afternoon
Reykjavik City Tour - available form your hotel. Afternoon free on
own to explore Reykjavik.

Day 03 Thursday REYKJAVIK-PINGVELLIR-SOUTH SHORE-VIK
Pick up at your hotel between 8:15 and 9:30AM. The tour starts with
a drive past the Nesjavellir geothermal area to Lake Pingvallavatn, Iceland's larges lake, and Pingvellir National Park, the ancient site of the parliament. You drive along the south coast, stop
at the the waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skogarfoss. Continuing eastwards
to Dyrholaey nature reserve, closed during the nesting period (5/15 till 6/23) , a solitary
cliff with interesting formations and teeming bird life. On you go
to Vik. Dinner and overnight.

Day 04 Friday SKAFTAFELL-GLACIAL LAGOON-HÖFN
Today you will cross Eldhraun, the largest mass of lava ever to flow
on earth in historical time, before you reach the small village Kirkjubæjarklaustur.
The tour continues over Skeidararsandur, vast tracts of black sandy
desert washed down by torrential glacial rivers. You will then stop
in the Skaftafell National Park for a walk. Continue to the Jökulsarlon
Glacial Lagoon where huge icebergs float and grind together in the
still waters.
You will have a optional boat tour between the floating icebergs before
continuing to Höfn for dinner and overnight.

Day 05 Saturday HÖFN-EGILSSTADIR
Touring today over the Almannaskard pass to Lonsöræfi,
a mountainous wilderness ringed by extinct volcanos. Towering mountains,
their bare rock faces ridged by nature, plunge vertically into the
sea to form Austfirdir, Icelands magnificent East Fjords. A
stop will be made at Petras stone collection before going on
to Egilsstadir for dinner and overnight.

Day 06 Sunday EGILSSTADIR-LAKE MYVATN
After a good breakfast you will drive across the vastness of the highland
plateau Mödrudalur to Dettifoss, Europe's most powerful waterfall. Continue towards Namaskard pass with boiling mud pools and on to Lake Myvatn where
you will spend the afternoon exploring the natural beauty of the area,
a wonderland of bird life and rock formations. Overnight
in the Myvatn area and dinner on own.

Day 07 Monday LAKE MYVATN-AKUREYRI
After breakfast you will head towards the northern capital Akureyri
with a stop at the waterfall Godafoss. Akureyri boasts some of the finest timber buildings in the country, beautifully restored. Due to its excellent natural harbor and good accessibility, Akureyri has become the northern centre of education, culture, trade and industry. Dinner and overnight in the Akureyri area.

Day 08 Tuesday AKUREYRI-SKAGAFJÖDUR-BORGARFJÖDUR-SELFOSS
Morning drive to Skagafjördur for an introduction to the Icelandic horse. Afterwards you will go across the Holtavörduheidi plateau to
Borgarfjördur, with a visit to Hraunfossar waterfall, the historic
Reykholt and Deildartunguhver hot spring. Proceed over the mountain
pass Kaldidalur to Selfoss. Overnight and dinner in Selfoss area.

Day 09 Wednesday GULLFOSS-GEYSIR-BLUE LAGOON-REYKJAVIK
Your last day touring will take you to the impressive Gullfoss waterfall
and to the Geysir geothermal area. From there continue on to the famous
Blue Lagoon for a refreshing bath. Afternoon arrival back in Reykjavik.
Overnight at HOTEL LOFTLEIDIR or similar.

Day 10 Thursday REYKJAVIK-USA
Morning free for optional Reykjavik City Tour or some last minute
shopping before scheduled transfer to Keflavik Airport and your afternoon
flight back to the U.S.
