Norwegian Lapland Tour 2008
This trip brings you to a magical part of Norway called Finnmark, located above the Arctic Circle. This part of the country will offer you more than you could ever imagine and is known for its many winter activies and the Igloo Hotel. The lively town of Alta, know as "City of the Northern Light", will be your base for this adventure.
In between you might experience a snow storm and a bit of the Sámi Culture.

Duration:  3 nights, 4 days
Minimum: 1 person

Activities and cancellation: The activity suppliers may cancel excursions due to
weather conditions and safety of the clients. Excursions will be cancelled if the
temperature is below -30 degrees Celsius. If the supplier offers an alternative activity and the client agrees to join there will be no refund for the cancelled activities.
Clothing: Warm and leisure clothing. Wool underwear, warm sweater of fleece, good and warm shoes, hat and gloves, scarf, pants and jacket.

DAY 01: ARRIVAL ALTA
Arrival Alta Airport. (Air on own or call us for a quote on SAS)
Transfer to Rica Hotel Alta by shuttle bus must be booked in advance (see the pricelist for the additional price), 5 minutes transport.
Check in at Rice Hotel Alta. The hotel has 155 rooms and is centrally located in Alta near the shopping area and restaurants. www.rica.no.
Rest of day free to explore Alta and have dinner at local restaurant on own.
Overnight at RICA Hotel Alta.

DAY 02: ALTA
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning free to explore the town on own or take optional tours.

Optional: 11:00am -1:30pm Dog sled tour in the land of the Elk
Schedule for Dog sled safari:
Time: 11:00am - 1:30pm daily.
Pick up from Rica Hotel Alta. (See the pricelist below).

DAY 03: ALTA IGLOO HOTEL
Breakfast at the hotel.

Optional: 11:00am (Thu/Fri/Sat only) Visit to Boazo Sami Siida incl. lunch. Get to know the Sami people and drive your own reindeer-sled.. Return to Hotel around 2:00pm. (See the pricelist below).

5:00pm transfer from Rica Hotel Alta to Alta Igloo Hotel

Check in and overnight stay. Dinner in Laksetua in the evening.
The Ice Hotel at Alta Friluftspark - Alta Igloo Hotel, will be built for the
9th time this winter (2007/2008). The hotel is situated close to the Alta River, 20 minutes by bus from the center of town

Dinner and overnight at Alta Igloo Hotel.

DAY 04: DEPARTURE ALTA
Breakfast in the restaurant near the icehotel. We recommend a visit to the sauna after a night in the ice hotel.

Optional: 10:00am Daily Snowmobile safari incl. Lunch, from Alta Igloo Hotel. Return to Alta Igloo Hotel around 1:00pm. (See the pricelist below)

10:30am or 1.15pm Return transfer to Alta City or Airport is included.

Return to your homeward destination on your own.
