Norwegian Lapland & Coastal Tour 2008
This trip brings you to the Northern part of Norway above the Arctic Circle. This part of the country will offer you more than you could ever imagine. The lively town of Alta, a vist to the North Cape and tour continues to Kirkenes on the famous Norwegian Coastal Voyage. In between you might experience the northern light, a snow storm and a bit of the Sámi Culture.

Minimum: 1 person

Activities and cancellation: The activity suppliers may cancel excursions due to
weather conditions and safety of the clients. Excursions will be cancelled if the
temperature is below -30 degrees Celsius. If the supplier offers an alternative activity and the client agrees to join there will be no refund for the cancelled activities.
Clothing: Warm and leisure clothing. Wool underwear, warm sweater of fleece, good and warm shoes, hat and gloves, scarf, pants and jacket.

DAY 01: ARRIVAL ALTA
Arrival Alta Airport. (Air on own or call us for a quote on SAS)
Transfer to Rica Hotel Alta by shuttle bus must be booked in advance (see the pricelist for the additional price), 5 minutes transport.
Check in at Rice Hotel Alta. The hotel has 155 rooms and is centrally located in Alta near the shopping area and restaurants. www.rica.no.
Rest of day free to explore Alta and have dinner at local restaurant on own.
Overnight at RICA Hotel Alta.

DAY 02: SNOWMOBILE SAFARI & ALTA IGLOO HOTEL
Breakfast at the hotel.
10:00am - 12:30pm Snowmobile safari
Transfer from Rica Hotel Alta to Alta Igloo Hotel and attend a Snowmobile Safari at the Finnmark Plain. Lunch in Laksestua restaurant. Relax in the Sauna in the afternoon. Dinner in Laksestua restaurant and overnight stay at Alta Igloo Hotel. www.ice-alta.no

DAY 03: ALTA - HONNINGSVÅG
Breakfast at hotel.
We recommend to visit the sauna after a night in the Igloo Hotel.
Transfer from Alta Igloo Hotel to Rica Hotel Alta. Time for lunch at Rica Hotel Alta before departure by scheduled bus to Honningsvåg. (See pricelist for lunch price).

Scheduled bus from Rica Hotel Alta (via Alta Airport) to Rica Hotel Honningsvåg.
Departure times:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday at 2:20pm, arrival at 6:20pm
Friday and Sunday at 3:00pm, arrival at 7:05pm
Check-in at Rica Hotel Honningsvåg. In the evening we recommend a visit to the local brewery “Bryggeriet” in the center of town, a 1 minute walk from your hotel.
Overnight at Rica Hotel Honningsvåg.

DAY 04: NORTH CAPE - COASTAL VOYAGE
Breakfast at the hotel.

Optional activity in the morning: Guided tour in the fishing village with a
kick sled at 10:00am — 11:30am. (See the pricelist below).

North Cape Excursion
Check-out from the hotel, remember to bring the luggage with you.
11:45am, pick up by the North Cape coach at the hotel.
12:00pm. North Cape Excursion.  12:40pm arrival North Cape. Enjoy the view!
The North Cape Hall offers a film presenting the North Cape’s 4 seasons, a souvenir shop and the coffeehouse is open serving snacks and warm drinks. Champagne and certificate is included for adults.
2:00pm, return from North Cape to Honningsvåg.

With reservation, due to weather conditions the North Cape convoy may be cancelled.

2:45pm, boarding Hurtigruten (Norwegian Coastal Voyage) for overnight cruise to Kirkenes.
3:15pm, departure with Hurtigruten – accommodation in unspecified 2 berth cabin incl. dinner & breakfast on cruise. The natural light plays an important role, dramatizing the scenery and enhancing the experience on the Coastal Voyage. During your trip a quiet, atmospheric darkness prevails, penetrated by warm embers of light from navigation beacons, clusters of houses and towns along the shore. If conditions are suitable the night sky will be illuminated by the fluorescent northern lights dancing on their black stage.
Accommodation in NCV cabin.

DAY 05: COASTAL VOYAGE - KIRKENES
Breakfast onboard.
10:00am, arrival Kirkenes with Hurtigruten.
10:00am –1:00pm King Crab Safari.
Departure by bus from the ship. This is a unique experience where you travel  by rubber boat or snowmobile fishing for the King Crab. When you return you enjoy a King Crab meal, where you can eat as much as you like of this arctic delicacy. 1:00pm, transfer back to your hotel.
Rica Hotel in Kirkenes for overnight stay.

DAY 06: DEPARTURE KIRKENES
Breakfast at the hotel.
Transfer by airport bus or taxi on own to the airport in Kirkenes. (See pricelist below).
Return to your homeward destination on your own.

Prices per person for optional activities in USD:

1. Transfer from airport to Rica Hotel Alta.
Shuttlebus: $22,- one way. Must be prebooked.

2. Lunch at Rica Hotel Alta
Adults: $60,-
Children under 12 years: $30,-

3. Guided tour in Honningsvag by Kick sled.
Adults: $58,-
Children under 18 years: $48,-
If too little snow or poor weather conditions for kick sled, the tour will
take place on foot.

4. Bus from the hotel to airport.
Bus: $24 adult/$12 child under 16.

Additional information:
Optional activities may be bought on arrival at the hotel reception and at gross prices by 3:00pm the day before the activity.
FFR is the bus company who runs the regular buses in Finnmark. There is one change of bus on the way to Honningsvåg. The bus driver will give information in English.
Please notice that there may be some changes for the Easter holiday concerning departure for buses and activities.
